It features a small display, WiFi, an acceleration-sensor, a speaker, a place to store a LiIon-battery, a USB-port and it runs Linux. How could you possibly dislike an “alarm clock” like the famous Chumby?!
Playing around on a Friday evening resulted in a Chumby being able to control a RGB-spotlight using DMX-512. How to do this is outlined here.

Eine kleine Freitagabend-Spielerei hat dazu geführt, dass mein Chumby nun per DMX-512 einen RGB-PAR ansteuern kann. Die dazu notwendigen Schritte sind hier kurz zusammengefasst.
